Flower and Bug

I just wanted to show the set up for me trying to understand the light.
This example is of a white daffodil and a bug.

1/200s, f/11, ISO 800
Here is the set up picture of how I took the picture. The sun light was pretty poor, so I wanted to try to imitate the sun. You can see the collection of white daffodils and the flash being triggered on them.

  • Nikon D5000
  • Off Camera Flash with wireless flash trigger.
  • 55-200mm f/4.0-5.6 zoomed all the way to 200mm
I zoomed all the way in to compress the background and to get as close to the flowers. The shutter speed was determined by the max speed of the flash, 1/200 of a second.
